(vs 19) Getting your own way, all the time     Gal. 5:16-21

•  Cut throat competition

• everyone will lose, everyone is my competition

  • Any three-player game in which each player plays for him or herself; a 1-on-1-on-1 game

  • A murderer is a cut throat

• no one can be trusted

• winning at any cost, walking (stumping, maiming, hurting) over as many as i can to win.

• All- consuming, yet never satisfied want(s)

• Hoarding

  • pursing things that have no or very little use to you

• You never can do it just right for me.

• we try to put other items into our God shaped hole in our lives

• a brutal temper (grossly ruthless or unfeeling bitter, harsh, burdensome, cruel, excruciating, grievous, grim, hard, hardhanded, heavy, inhuman, murderous, onerous, oppressive, rough, rugged, searing, severe, stiff, tough  )

• from frustration of pursing items and doing what ever it takes to get it

Gal 5:21b

“...I could go on. This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom in this way, you WILL NOT inherit God’s kingdom.”

How do you like your fruit now?

Sept. 25 -- Religiosity- God has to do for ME!!!!!  Fat Little Baby

• trinket gods

• Placing very little worth on a god

• God as a “good luck charm”

•  magic show religion the art of producing illusions by sleight of hand

• looks for a church that wows them

  • something that looks wow but is fake, and we are in awe of the wow, and miss the fake and call it real.

•  paranoid loneliness (suspiciousness, extremely fearful narcissism, (loneliness) cut off from others : solitary unaccompanied

• there is no God

• repetitive, loveless, cheap sex ( “freaky, deaky thing” -Rob)

• a stinking accumulation of mental garbage

•  a frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness
